MALMESBURY MISSILE STORMS HOME TO GATECRASHER STAKES GLORY
Promising two-year-old and Cape Racing Sales graduate, Malmesbury Missile, picked up his first black-type win when he landed the Hollywoodbets Sharks Gatecrasher Listed race at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.

Malmesbury Missile
Trained by Justin Snaith, Malmesbury Missile had preceded his win on Saturday with third place finishers in both the Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper and Gr 3 Tote Godolphin Barb Stakes. He was given a confident ride by Richard Fourie in the Gatecrasher Stakes, with Fourie bringing his mount from well off the pace to get up and win going away by a length. Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Malmesbury Missile was a R900 000 purchase from the 2024 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, before his current connections paid R2 200 000 to retain him off a sale to dissolve a partnership.
Now a winner of two from just six starts, Malmesbury Missile looks to have a bright future ahead of him. The blue-blooded colt races for Itssa It & Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd & World Sports Betting (Nom: Mr W Tannous). Malmesbury Missile is a son of multiple champion sire Gimmethegreenlight (AUS) and the top-class racemare Gabor. A daughter of Galileo’s ill-fated son Kingsbarns, Gabor was Equus Champion 2YO Filly of 2018-2019, with her victories including a triumph in the Gr 1 Thewkini Stakes. The well-bred Gabor, in turn, was produced by the stakes placed Trippi mare Se Agabor, a half-sister to another Gr 1 Thekwini Stakes winner Roxanne.
