HAPPY VERSE MAINTAINS HIS UNBEATEN RECORD
Exciting two-year-old Happy Verse, a R1 600 000 buy from the 2024 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, made it two wins from two starts when he won at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.
A game winner on debut, the Justin Snaith trained colt maintained his unbeaten record when he won the Reeves Racing Syndicate Class 5 (1400m).

Under Andrew Fortune, Happy Verse raced up with the pace for much of the race, before he hit the front 100m from home. From there, the Vercingetorix colt went away to win a shade cosily by a length, and he looks an exciting prospect for the future.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud in partnership with Katom and Maine Chance Farms, Happy Verse races for Reon Barnard, Gary Player, and Drakenstein Stud.
By champion sire elect Vercingetorix, Happy Verse is the fourth winner produced by the Giant’s Causeway mare Song Of Happiness, a winning daughter of former Equus Champion Captain’s Lover. Herself a half-sister to multiple Gr 1 winner Ebony Flyer, Captain’s Lover won black-type races on three different continents with her wins including a triumph in the Gr 1 Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas.
Happy Verse was not the only CRS graduate to impress at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.
