PREMIER SALE GRADUATES IMPRESS!

A pair of two-year-olds, both purchased off the 2024 Cape Premier Yearling, made big impressions when winning stylishly at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.

The Vaughan Marshall trained Dreamworld showed his class when he won Sunday’s Gr 3 Winter Nursery while the Justin Snaith handled, She’s My World romped home to a fluent win in the first race on the card.

Both horses were sired by Drakenstein Stud’s rising star sire One World, with that son of Captain Al also responsible for yet another high-class CRS graduate in the form of One Stripe.

The highly rated Dreamworld was always up with the pace in Sunday’s Winter Nursery. With 200m left to run, Dreamworld continued to gallop, and the colt pulled away to score a convincing one length win.

Dreamworld

The colt provided jockey Gavin Lerena with the first of three feature race winners on the day, with Gavin going on to win both the Listed Ladies Mile with Time For Love and the Gr 3 Legal Eagle Stakes with Garrix.

Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, the colt has won twice from three starts, with Dreamworld’s sole defeat coming when finishing second in the Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper.

Dreamworld, who is out of the Oasis Dream mare Dream De Ra, was a R650 000 buy from the 2024 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

The colt, whose granddam is Avontuur’s world champion Val De Ra, races for Reiner and Cheryl Gabler and Ken and Jane Truter.

In the post-race interview, Avontuur’s Pippa Mickleburgh thanked the connections for their loyal support, and pointed out that Dreamworld was Val De Ra’s grandson.

It was a second year in a row that Vaughan had won the Winter Nursery, with the conditioner saddling One Stripe, also partnered by Gavin, to win the race in 2024.

The brilliant One Stripe, who is set to continue his career overseas, is a wonderful advertisement for the Breeze Up & Unbroken 2YO Sale, and entries for the 2025 Breeze Up & Unbroken 2YO Sale will open shortly.

Dreamworld’s paternal half-sister She’s My World looked above average when she romped home to a three-length win in the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) on Sunday.

She’s My World

Under Richard Fourie, the two-year-old pulled clear of her rivals to win as she liked, with She’s My World having finished second in two of her three races prior to Sunday’s win.

The winning jockey said after the win, “She’s a lovely filly. I have always rated her”.
Bred by Dr Marianne Thomson, She’s My World was knocked down to Etienne Braun for R425 000 at the 2024 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

The filly, whose dam Lana Belle is a winning Querari half-sister to Gr 2 winner Buran, is owned by Etienne and Cameron Braun, Jonathan Bloch, Robert Bloomberg, Mr Cotterell, Mark & Beti Jones, and Dr Warner.
