Boland Stud continues to shine, with the farms’ alumni enjoying notable success both on the racetrack and in the sales ring.
Based in Ceres, numerous equine stars have been foaled and raised at Boland, with this tally including such champions as Senor Santa, Kiss Of Peace, and top-class sire Harry Hotspur.
In more recent times, Boland Stud has bred or reared such top-class gallopers as Son Of Raj (Gr1 World Sports Betting SA Derby), Just Reckless (Gr2 World Pool With Gold Circle Debutante, Gr3 Tabgold Strelitzia Stakes), and African Warrior (Gr2 Haval Motors South Africa Umkhomazi Stakes, Gr3 The Independent On Saturday Affluence Godolphin Barb Stakes), Ameena (Gr2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper, Gr3 Strelitzia Stakes) and Miss Cool (Gr2 Heineken SA Nursery, Gr3 Three Troikas Stakes).
Son Of Raj recently showed his class when running out a convincing winner of the G3 Betway London News Stakes.

Lot 218: c Captain Of All –Sylvanite, by Silvano
This colt is a son of champion Captain Of All, whose progeny include the likes of Linebacker, Springs Of Carmel, Shango and Meu Capitano.
Sylvanite was a high-class performer who won twice and finished second in the Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes, and her dam Sugar Almond (whose sire Al Mufti is the grandsire of Captain Of All) is a winning half-sister to graded stakes winners Starlit and Sweet Theresa.
Sugar Almond is out of The Prime Minister mare Sweet Antonia, whose fourth dam, Sally Ship, won the Kentucky Oaks.
Six times South African champion sire Silvano also ranks as the broodmare sire of current South African superstar One Stripe, whose sire, like Captain Of All, was sired by Captain Al.
Lot 227: c Time Thief –Walking Onthe Moon, by Giant’s Causeway
The Redoute’s Choice horse Time Thief made headlines as a broodmare sire at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Time Thief’s dual Gr1 winning daughter In Her Time had a Written Tycoon colt make AUS$1 800 000 at this year’s Gold Coast Sale. Herself a nine time winner, who won four in a row, In Her Time won two of Australia’s greatest sprints in a career which saw In Her Time earn nearly AUS$3 800 000 in prize money.
Walking Onthe Moon has already produced the stakes placed, four time winning Walking Thru Time, with this mare herself a twice winning half-sister to a horse who won 16 races in the USA.
Choral Group, granddam of Walking Onthe Moon, was a high-class performer whose 7 career wins included a score in the Gr2 Tempted Stakes.
Giant’s Causeway, the sire of Walking Onthe Moon, is broodmare sire of more than 220 stakes winners, with his daughters having produced such outstanding racehorses and sires as Gun Runner and One World, among others.
