Ambiance Stud despatches two unbroken Elusive Fort fillies to Hollywoodbets Durbanville for the 27 October 2024 CRS auction.

Vastly experienced vet, Dr Marianne Thomson has forged a reputation over the years as a fine breeder of athletic, well-conformed thoroughbreds so buyers should have a careful look at Lots 69 and 117.

The former is a first foal of the Gimmethegreenlight (AUS) mare, Gimmegifts. The second dam Joshlin won the Sceptre Stakes, making Gimmegifts a half-sister to zippy Highveld campaigner, Jimmy Don. There is some serious Black Type to be found when delving beyond the fourth dam, Phif with luminaries such as multiple G1 winner, Ebony Flyer; Champion 3YO Female Miler, Captains Lover; Champion Miler in SA, Vardy and high class, Universal cropping up.

Weer en Weer is the name of Lot 117 – a chestnut filly out of Again and Again. The bloodline strength lies slightly further down the page as second dam, Sweet Virginia produced Do It Again Durban July legend and SA HOTY, Do It Again as well as 10x winning international campaigner, Strongman – known as Horse of Fortune after moving offshore to Hong Kong and Macau.

Not only does Elusive Fort represent good value but he can drop the bomb, too – just think of Kommetdieding and Siren’s Call’s achievements. He is responsible for 263 winners, including 17 SW’s from 419 runners.
