Red-hot sires represented in Wilgerbosdrift draft
Multiple champion breeders Wilgerbosdrift, who in partnership with Mauritzfontein has won two National Breeders Championships, is represented by eight quality yearlings at Friday’s Cape Racing Winter Sale.
Wilgerbosdrift’s hot resident sires Flower Alley (4) and Fire Away (2), have colts in their draft while Erupt and What A Winter have a filly apiece.
Eye-catching among the Flower Alley colts, and bred to stay, is Lot 62 Garden Sun, out of Treaj Pots, a prolific producer of winners.
Another bred with promise is Lot 64 Gardener’s Pride, by Flower Alley out of the Dynasty mare, Vintage Rose, whose half-sister Rosier won the G2 Debutante Stakes. Her extended female line includes a number of US stakes winners.
Leading freshman Fire Away, with a high 32% winners to runners, will certainly have buyers looking at Lot 24 Full Moon, the second foal of Listed winner Luna Child, By Ideal World.
Lot 63 French Flame was born from Var’s Countess, by VAR, a young mare with the potential to produce a top horse.
Lot 77 Market Trends is an Erupt filly out of Centimes, by Shamardal (a multiple-winning single runner so far), with an eye-catching international female line.
